4.  Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are 

found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced.

5.  Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undo stress on 

the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.

DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF 

APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.

IMPORTANT:

During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice smoke and/or a slight odor.  

This is normal and should quickly disappear. It will not recur after appliance has been 

used a few more times.

1.  Carefully unpack the kettle. Remove any tape, labels or packaging materials.

2.  Rinse the interior of the kettle with warm, soapy water. Rinse well and dry thoroughly.

3.  Wipe exterior surfaces of the product and base with a soft, moist cloth to remove 

dust particles collected during packing and handling. NEVER IMMERSE THE 

KETTLE, BASE, CORD OR PLUG IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. The 

electrical connections or the switch should also not contact water.

4.  NEVER use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the kettle or any other parts.

5.  Place kettle on a dry, level, heat-resistant surface.

BEFORE FIRST USE:

Before the first use, the kettle should be cleaned thoroughly. Run through the boil cycle 

at least 2 times and discard boiled water before consumption.

BOILING WATER:

1.  Place the kettle and base on a dry, level and heat-resistant surface.

2.  Remove the kettle from the base.

3.  Fill the kettle with cool water to just under the max marking. Do not fill over the max 

marking. Close the lid.

4.  Connect the cord plug to wall outlet and position the kettle on the base. 

NOTE: 

The kettle should be operated on an electrical circuit that will not be 

overloaded by other electric appliances.

5.  Press the switch ON. The switch will illuminate and the boiling cycle will begin.

6.  When the water temperature reaches a boil, the kettle will automatically shut off.

CAUTION: Use care when moving kettle and pouring hot water. Danger of scalding.

7.  Pour the hot water into a heat resistant container.

CAUTION: Never leave the kettle unattended when boiling water or after water has 

been boiled.

CAUTION: The kettle is hot during use. DO NOT touch.

CAUTION: Never operate the kettle dry (without water).

NOTE: 

The boiling cycle may be interrupted at any time by removing the kettle from the 

base.
