2. Removing/Reattaching the Float
It is not necessary to remove the float if only the intake (motive medium) and exhaust
valves are to be serviced or replaced. It is not always necessary to replace the float
when replacing the snap-action unit. The float should be replaced only when there are
irregularities such as damage to its exterior or condensate found inside the float.

• Using needle-nose pliers, remove the split pin from one side
of the connecting pin; remove the exposed flat washer
• Holding the float to prevent it from falling, remove the
connecting pin; be careful not to lose the flat washers.
• Remove the float; be careful not to damage.
• Reverse the steps to
reassemble.
• Use a new split pin if
the old one was
damaged during
disassembly.

It is not necessary to remove the float before removing the snap-action unit. When
working with the snap-action unit, take care not to pinch fingers, etc.

open-ended torque
wrench, loosen the two
bolts that hold the snap-
action to the supports
under the cover unit
• Holding the snap-action
unit to prevent it from
falling, remove the bolts;
be careful not to lose the
washers.
• Assemble the bolts,
spring washers and flat
washers, then finger-
tighten.
• Tighten to a torque of
100 N
