5.3
Building An Auto-alignment System - PC Operation
5.3.1
Introduction
The TNA001 NanoTrak unit is designed to operate with two KPZ101 piezo K-Cubes,
which provide the drive signals to the piezo actuators in the system.
The following sections describe the electrical connections and software settings for
both standalone and hub use.
5.3.2
Wiring and Software Settings for Hub Operation
Using the TCH002 hub greatly simplifies system wiring because the hub provides all
the necessary power, signal and USB comms connections to all controller cubes.
The following procedure describes a typical set up, with the TNA001 NanoTrak cube
being used with a pair of KPZ101 piezo driver cubes on the TCH002 controller hub -
see Fig. 5.2 for a general system schematic diagram. A TLS001 laser source cube is
also shown, though this cou ld be substituted wi th any laser source. Th e T-Cube
positions on the hub and associated parameter settings described are by no means
the only possible options. For further information, see Section 5.3.3.
1) Perform the mechanical installation as detailed in Section 3.2. of this manual and
also in the manual supplied with the K-Cube Piezo drivers.
2) Install the T -Cube units onto the controller hub. Fit a p iezo unit in bay 1 , the
NanoTrak in bay 2 and the other piezo unit in bay 3, as shown in Fig. 5.2. The laser
source unit can be fitted in bays 4 and 5 or 5 and 6.
3) Connect the HV OUT terminals on the rear of the Piezo drivers to the associated
piezo actuators.
4) Connect the input optical fiber to the laser source.
5) Connect the output optical fiber to the OPTICAL/PIN IN terminal on the NanoTrak
rear panel.
