LED4Dxxx
Warning
When operated incorrectly, the LED light emitted from the LED4Dxxx can result in permanent
eye damage.
The Four Wavelength High Power LED Source LED4Dxxx can be equipped with LEDs of differ-
ent wavelength, including UV and IR.
Be sure to pay strict attention to the safety recommendations of the LED Risk Group of
the LEDs incorporated in the LED4Dxxx. For this, please refer to the Specification Sheet
of the incorporated Thorlabs LED or contact Thorlabs.
Do not look directly into the light beam. Precautions must be taken to prevent looking directly at
the light beam.
Do not look through the optical system during operation of the device. This can be harmful to
the eyes even for brief periods due to the high intensity of the laser light.
If viewing the light is necessary or if there is a possibility of reflection of the light beam, light pro-
tective glasses for the wavelength of the LEDs installed in the LED4Dxxx must be used to pre-
vent the laser light from entering the eye.
To prevent injury, these products must be used in accordance with the International Standard
“Photobiological Safety of Lamps & Lamp Systems” CEI IEC 62471.
In case Thorlabs Four Wavelength High Power LED Source LED4Dxxx is used in microscope
applications as a replacement for Mercury Vapor Lamps, the same precautions should be taken
as those applying to Mercury Vapor Lamps.
In case Thorlabs Four Wavelength High Power LED Source LED4Dxxx is used in other applica-
tions, they should be used in accordance with CEI IEC 62471.
