5. Startup and Operation
Warning
•
Connect the product only to a socket that has been
approved for the device. The socket must be installed close
to the product and must be easily accessible.
•
Disconnect the product from the network using the power
button – if this is not available, unplug the power cord
from the socket.
•
When using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that
the sum power draw of all the connected devices does not
exceed its maximum throughput rating.
•
If you will not be using the product for a long period of
time, disconnect it from mains power.
Note
Please note that the number and quality of stations received
may vary depending on the position of the antenna and local
conditions.
5.1 Powering the antenna using a power supply unit
(Fig. 1)
•
Connect the coaxial cable from the antenna to the set-top
box or TV.
•
Connect the power supply unit to the antenna’s DC input and
plug the power supply unit into an electrical socket. (Please use
only the power unit supplied with the product.)
•
Switch on the antenna using the power switch.
•
Switch on the TV (and the set-top box, if present).
•
Check the reception quality. If the reception quality is not
good, adjust the position or angle of the antenna. Depending
on the station, the amplifier performance must be adjusted
using the dial on the back.
•
Switch off the antenna when it is not in use.
5.2 Powering the antenna with the set-top box or
digital TV (Fig. 2)
•
Connect the coaxial cable that is attached to the anten-
na with the antenna input on the set-top box or digital
television.
•
Ensure that the power supply for the antenna is activated on
the set-top box or digital TV.
•
Check the reception quality. If the reception quality is not
good, adjust the position or angle of the antenna. Depending
on the station, the amplifier performance must be adjusted
using the dial on the back.
•
Switch off the antenna when it is not in use.
Note
Powering the antenna directly from the set-top box or
digital TV requires a supply voltage of 5 V. No USB cable or
power supply unit is necessary.
5.3 Setting up the antenna on a table, cabinet or
similar
Next, place the antenna on an even surface such as a table
or entertainment stand. Check the reception quality. If the
reception quality is not good, adjust the position or angle of
the antenna.
6. Care and Maintenance
Note
Disconnect the device from the power supply before
cleaning it or if it is not going to be used for a long period
of time.
Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and
do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
