Remarks
General Remarks
• Read the Instructions for Use carefully before first use. If you have difficulty reading, please have them read to you.
If the copy of the Instructions for Use is missing, you can download one from www.thomashilfen.de. The contents of
the digital Instructions for Use can be enlarged.
• Check the packaging for any transport damage and to be sure the product is in flawless condition.
• Changes to the product are only permitted within the scope of the intended adjustment options.
• Cleaning and daily care can be provided by relatives and caregivers. Maintenance and inspection are done by the
distributor.
• Clean the frame of the product as needed.
• Always wipe the product dry if it gets wet. Never put away wet after use.
• All of the screws to the product have to be warmed prior to removal because they are fastened with a thread locker.
If the product is to be put back together again, all of the screws have to be secured with a thread locker.
• All labels have to remain on the product and should not be tampered with.
Safety Instructions
• Check at least every 3 months that the settings on the product still work for the user’s current body measurements. If
need be, have a distributor / orthopaedic technician adjust the settings.
• Do regular (weekly) checks to make sure that the setting options on the product work.
• Be careful of the moving parts when adjusting or folding the product.
• Only lift up the product by its firmly welded or screwed parts.
• Before each use check that all the nuts, bolts, and screws are tight.
• Please remember to tighten or lock the screws, clamping levers (hip angle adjustment) and foot pedals (seat angle and
seat height) after each adjustment.
• Please do not overload the product and note the maximum user weight and the maximum load capacity (see techni-
cal data).
• Never leave the user unattended with the product.
• The product should only be used by one user at a time. No other individuals should be placed in or on the product.
• All users have to be familiar with how the product works. This way in an emergency the user can be removed
quickly from the product.
• Do not leave the user unattended while they are getting into or out of the product. If there is too much pressure put
on the footrest, there is a risk of slipping or tipping.
• Always secure the user in the product with a restraining belt (standard equipment or accessory).
• Do not hang heavy bags or other objects on the product because this increases the risk of tipping.
• Always make sure the brake / parking brake is working before using the product. If the brake isn’t working right, the
product shouldn’t be used.
• The parking brake always has to be engaged when putting the user into or taking the user out of the product.
• When stopping briefly or for a longer time, use the brake so the product doesn’t accidently roll away.
• Wet tyres can have a negative impact on braking.
• If you are not using the product, don’t leave the brake engaged. Leaving the parking brake constantly engaged can
damage the tyres.
• Please avoid uneven ground, as this may cause the product to tip over.
• Ground beams should be passed over only when the base frame is tilted to stand on the rear wheels (going upwards
– pull backwards, going downwards – lowering slowly).
• Stairs must only be taken with the aid of an accompanying person. If available, elevators or similar equipment should
be used. If such equipment is unavailable, the obstacle should be passed with the chair being carried by two persons,
without the child sitting in it.
• Please be careful when pushing on slopes to avoid the chassis tipping over or rolling away, or your child falling out of
the chair.
