5.3 Probe preparation and insertion
5.3.1 Making CPC AseptiQuik connections
1. Select the appropriate probe. Verify the presence of a Teflon
™
support ring and O-ring on the probe and visually inspect the probe
for damage.
2. Perform any required probe maintenance and calibrate the pH probe.
See Chapter 4 for probe calibration information.
3. Insert the probe into the probe assembly through the threaded
adapter. It is critical to probe insertion to ensure the threads do not
become cross-threaded. Otherwise, the O-ring will not seal and the
system will leak.
4. Verify that the probe tip is not touching (more than 6.35 mm (0.25 in.)
gap) the membrane of the aseptic connector before threading into
the probe adapter.
8. Start agitation from the Agitation Module on the Touchscreen
Console at 0.1 Hz (3.4.2).
9. Check the alignment of the rolling diaphragm flange underneath
the tank to ensure that it is still straight, not twisted, and rolling
properly.
10. The unit is now ready to operate. See Chapter 6 for operating
information.
