6. View an intensity scan of the deuterium (D

) and tungsten (W) lamps together:
a. Open the Lamps page and turn on the tungsten (W) lamp. Leave the deuterium (D
2
)
lamp on.
b. Return to the Control page and change the Discrete Channels settings to monitor
diodes 94, 177, and 260.
c.
Click
Load To Detector
. A dialog box containing the message Method Has Been
Downloaded appears. Click
OK
.
d. Open the Display page and click
Start
to refresh the display (see

Save a printout or an electronic copy of the spectrum. Date the printout and add it to
your maintenance records (see
“Recording the Performance of the Lamps”
Note
These diodes roughly correspond to the wavelengths of 300 nm, 400 nm,
and 500 nm, respectively. The Discrete Channels area on the Display page
contains a digital readout for the selected diodes (
). Record these
readout values to track the performance of both lamps.
