Liquid Chromatograph

The liquid chromatography devices controlled by the Xcalibur 2.0 data system includes those
listed in

The LC pump is used to pump the mobile phase through the LC column and into the API
source. The autosampler is used to introduce sample into the mobile phase stream.

Autosampler Start/Stop signals to the Surveyor MSQ Plus MS detector are provided by
contact closure. See the

Surveyor MSQ Plus Getting Connected

Guide for information on

connecting an autosampler to the Surveyor MSQ Plus MS detector by contact closure.

Configure the Xcalibur data system for your LC devices with the Xcalibur Instrument
Configuration application. Access this application program by choosing

Start > All Programs > Xcalibur > Instrument Configuration

from the Windows® taskbar

or by double-clicking the

Instrument Configuration

icon on the Windows desktop.

The Instrument Configuration application opens to the Instrument Configuration dialog box
shown in

. To minimize the number of devices displayed in the Devices list box, you

can do one of the following:

• Select

All

in the Device Type box to display all the available devices controlled by

Xcalibur 1.4.

• Select

LC

in the Device Type box to

display only LC pumps.

• Select

AS

in the Device Type box to display only autosamplers and devices that include an

autosampler.
