a.
Remove the two screws that hold the shield in place.
b. Remove the two screws that hold the base
in place.
c.
Disconnect the electron multiplier wire.
d. Remove the old electron multiplier by gently pressing on the cathode springs while
pulling up on the electron multiplier.
7. Lock the new electron multiplier in place with springs and clip.
8. Use the two base screws to reattach the ion detector base to the manifold wall. Ensure the
conversion dynode connector wire is seated properly in the dynode and feedthrough.
9. Reassemble the ion detector.
a.
Attach the shield with the two screws that hold the shield in place.
b. Attach the new electron multiplier cathode with the spring clip. Insert the end nearest
the manifold mount first, then push the other end into the clip.
c.
Reconnect the electron multiplier connector.
10. Reattach the front and top covers.
11. Restart the DSQ II.
