7. Install the new low pass filter board (PN 119590-0480).
a. Insert the new low pass filter board.
b. Reattach the screws that connect the low pass filter to the chassis.
c. Slip the P1, P2, and P4 cables through the hole in the low pass filter cover. Be sure
none of the wires touch each other.
d. Reconnect the J1 cable.
e. Reconnect the J2, J4, J5, J6, and J7 wires.
f. Reattach the screws that hold the low pass filter cover in place.
8. Reinstall the RF module.
a. Insert the RF module into its slot.
b. Reattach the screws that connect the RF module to the chassis.
c. Tighten the screws that hold the RF module in place.
d. Use forceps to reconnect the RF feedthrough connectors. The green RF feedthrough
connectors connect to the pins closest to the front of the instrument, red to the pins
closest to the back of the instrument. Be sure the wires do not touch each other or the
board.
e. Reattach the RF coil cover.
f. Reattach the screws that hold the RF coil cover in place.
9. Reconnect the RF module. The green P1 cable to the DC driver goes on the left terminal
(J7), the black P2 cable goes to J4, and the red P4 cable goes to J3.
a. Reconnect the cables to the DC driver.
b. Reconnect the cables to the RF module.
10. Reattach the left, top, and front covers of the DSQ II.
11. Restart the DSQ II.
Replacing the Power Module
To replace the power module, you will need a 3 mm Allen wrench.
1. Cover the work area with a lint-free cloth.
2. Shut down and vent the DSQ II, as described in "Shutting Down the GC/MS System"
on page 18 .
WARNING - ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD.
Before proceeding. unplug the DSQ II to
avoid an electrical shock.
