Accessing the Deuterium Lamp and Reading Its Chronometer
The deuterium lamp assembly is equipped with a chronometer that tracks the total hours of
lamp operation.
To access the deuterium lamp and read its chronometer
1. Turn the detector off, unplug the detector from line power, and allow sufficient time for
the lamps to cool before you remove the lamp cover.
2. Open the front doors of the detector.
3. Using the 1/8 in. ball-end hex screwdriver (supplied), unscrew the captive retaining screw
on the lamp cover (

4. Pull the cover off to expose the lamp assemblies.
Because intense UV light can damage your eyes, the lamps automatically turn off when
you turn off the detector or remove the lamp cover.
CAUTION
Turn the detector off and unplug the power cord from the power
receptacle on the back panel as a secondary precaution against the possibility of
exposing yourself to a UV light hazard.

(approximately 30 minutes) for the lamps to cool before you remove the lamp cover.
