10. Turn the pump flow back on and continue pumping the 20% nitric acid solution for
3 to 5 minutes.
11. Remove the nitric acid solution by pumping HPLC-grade water through the LC system
at 1 mL/min for 15 to 20 minutes.
12. Turn the Purge Control off and on several times as you flush the system with water.
Replacing the Fuses
You can operate the PDA detector at 100/115V or 230V. However, you must make sure that
the appropriate fuses are installed (see
).
If the detector does not power up, you might need to replace the fuses. See
to confirm if the fuses require replacement.

To replace the fuses
1. Turn off the power to the detector and unplug the detector from line power.
2. Squeeze the lever located just below the fuse holder cover until you hear a clicking sound,
and then pull the fuse holder out of the power module (
CAUTION
Allowing the 20 percent nitric acid to stand in the cell for longer periods
can harm the flowcell.

CAUTION
To avoid an electrical shock, before you replace the fuses, turn off the
