TechPaq OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The mode switch setting, timeclock settings, and thermostat setting, all affect how your new TechPaq
will control filtering and heating of your Spa. This allows you to optimize the operation of your Spa for
your particular Spa usage preferences and climate as well as accommodating seasonal variations.

Thermostat:

The thermostat controls the temperature setpoint of your spa. Its range is approximately

55 to 104 degrees F. Your spa should reach the temperature setpoint within 24 hours if it is covered
and operating properly. Rotate the thermostat knob clockwise to increase the temperature setpoint.
Rotate the thermostat knob counter-clockwise to decrease the temperature setpoint.

WARNING: DRY FIRING

Never allow the heater to turn on when the spa is not completely filled with water. Disconnect the
power cord or turn off the circuit breaker before draining the water from your spa. Do not rely on the
thermostat to prevent the heater from turning on. When re-filling the spa insure that the spa is
completely filled and water also fills the heater vessel before reconnecting the power cord or turning
the circuit breaker on. Energizing the heater when it is not fully immersed in water (dry firing) can burn
out the heater within seconds. Damage caused by dry firing the heater is not covered by the warranty.

Units With Timeclock Option
Timeclock Settings: Time of Day:

Rotate the dial of the timeclock until the clock hands on the front

of the timeclock are aligned to the correct time and the correct hour for AM or PM is aligned with the
indicator arrow on the front of the timeclock.

Timeclock Settings:

ON/OFF Settings:

The timeclock has 96 timer pins on its front dial. Each pin

lines up with a certain time on the dial and controls whether the timeclock is ON or OFF during that
time each day. When any timer pin is pressed IN towards the center of the dial then the timeclock will
be OFF for that 15 minute interval. When any timer pin is pressed OUT away from the center of the
dial then the timeclock will be ON for the corresponding 15 minute interval. To set the timeclock ON
continuously set  ALL the timer pins OUT. For OFF continuously set ALL the timer pins IN.

Mode switch Settings: Position 1:

When the mode switch is in position 1 the low speed pump will

be ON for filtering whenever the timeclock is ON. Additionally the timeclock must be ON to enable the
thermostat to activate the heater.

Mode switch Settings: Position 2:

When the mode switch is in position 2 the low speed pump will

be ON for filtering whenever the timeclock ON.  Additionally the thermostat will activate filtering and
heating whenever the water temperature falls below the thermostat setpoint.

Units Without Timeclock Option
Mode switch Settings: Position 1:

When the mode switch is in position 1 the thermostat will

activate filtering and heating whenever the water temperature falls below the thermostat setpoint.

Mode switch Settings: Position 2:

When the mode switch is in position 2 the low speed pump will

be ON for filtering continuously. Additionally the thermostat will activate heating whenever the water
temperature falls below the thermostat setpoint.

Heater Reset

:  If the temperature of the water in your spa exceeds approximately 115 degrees F then

the high limit will activate and disable the heater. Depress the red heater reset button to re-enable the
heater. Persistent or repetitive activation of the high limit indicates a problem with your spa requiring
diagnosis and correction by a spa repair professional.

Heater Indicator

: This lamp will illuminate whenever the heater is activated.
