B. Appliance Mounting
1. The AMP is intended for installation in an area with
a floor drain, or in a suitable drain pan to prevent
any leaks or safety relief valve discharge resulting
in property damage.
2. This appliance is not intended to support external
piping or venting. All external piping and venting
must be supported independently of the appliance.
3. This appliance must be installed on a level surface
to prevent condensate from backing up inside the
heat exchanger.
4. For basement installation provide a solid level
foundation, such as concrete, where the floor is not
level or where water may accumulate around the
appliance. The floor must be able to support the
weight of the appliance, water, and all additional
system components.
5. Provide adequate space for condensate piping or
a condensate pump, if required.
6. The AMP is approved for installation on combustible
flooring. Acceptable flooring includes a level metal
or wooden base capable of holding the weight of
the appliance. The base shall extend beyond the
edges of the appliance by at least 3 inches (76.2
mm) in any direction. This appliance shall never be
installed directly on carpeted flooring.
a. For closet or alcove installation, the base shall
cover the entire floor.

Chlorinated waxes/cleaners
Chlorine-based swimming pool chemicals
Calcium chloride used for thawing
Sodium chloride used for water softening
Refrigerant leaks
Paint or varnish removers
Hydrochloric acid/muriatic acid
Cements and glues
Anti-static fabric softeners used in clothes dryers
Chlorine-type bleaches, detergents, and cleaning
solvents found in household laundry rooms.
Adhesives used to fasten building products and
other similar products
Excessive dust and dirt
Areas likely to have contaminants:
Dry cleaning/laundry areas and establishments
Swimming pools
Metal fabrication plants
Beauty shops
Refrigeration repair shops
Photo processing plants
Auto body shops
Plastic manufacturing plants
Furniture refinishing areas and establishments
New building construction
Remodeling areas
Garages with workshops
