MAINTENANCE

Adjusting the Cutting Angle:

•  Place the unit on a flat area and switch off the engine.

• 

Depress the gear tension lever (A), depress the blade-

indexing lever (B).

• 

Grip rear handle of cutter assembly and hold securely.

• 

Adjust cutter angle to desired position and release 

indexing lever into notch.

• 

Loosen the gear tension release lever (A) and blade-

indexing lever (B).

Note: 

The gear case becomes hot during use, Always grip 

rear handle when making adjustments to avoid injury from 

the gear case.

• 

Clean the cutting blades after every use by brushing 

off any debris and wiping with a light oil to clean any 

gummy residue.

• 

Ensure that the blade bolts are lubricated and wipe off 

any excess oil before putting away.

• 

Check the blade tightness. Tighten blade bolts (A) until 

snug, with a 10mm wrench. Loosen bolts ½  turn. Hold 

bolts (A) from turning and tighten locknuts (B) with 

the

other 10mm wrench.

Every 15-25 hours

 of

 use, grease the gear housing.

•  Clean dirt from grease fittings.

•  Carefully pump grease in each fitting (1-2 pumps is 

enough). Do not force grease as too much pressure will 

force grease past seals and cause damage.

Every 25 hours

 of

 use, grease the drive shaft.

• 

Remove

 the

 locating screw (A) and loosen

 the

  

clamping screw 

(B). Remove the flex drive shaft 

assembly from the 

gear housing.

• 

Pull the drive shaft (C) from the shaft assembly and 

wipe clean. Recoat with a thin coating (15ml) of 

grease.

•  Slide the flex shaft drive back into the drive shaft as

-

sembly, being careful not to get dirt on the flex shaft.

• 

Align the locating screw holes in the gear case and the 

drive shaft assembly and fix with 

screw, the tighten 

the 

clamping screw.
