9 MAINTENANCE
9.1 DAILY CHECKS (Every 8 working hours)
Oil Level:
Check level of oil in sump. Remove dipstick wipe
and replace and check that oil is up to the
maximum mark. Top up if neccesary. It is important
that this test is carried out with the engine cold and
vehicle parked on level ground.
Air Filter:
Examine blockage indicator (A) If indicator shows
red filter element requires cleaning or replacement.
The indicator is reset by pressing the button on the
end of the indicator.
Cleaning the Air Filter:
Remove loose dirt from element with compressed air
working from the "clean" to "dirty" side.
Note: Compressed air must not exceed 6bar,
with the nozzle 50mm away from element.
Tyre Pressures:
The tyre pressures should be maintained at 2.0kg/
sq.cm (30 P.S.I.)
Hydraulic Oil Level:
Check hydraulic oil level in tank. The level of oil
must be maintained so it is between the two level
indicator lines on the rear of the tank. (B) Top up
with Tellus 46 or equivilant if neccesary. The oil
level should be checked cold with the machine
parked on level ground.
IMPORTANT: Absolute cleanliness must be
observed when filling the hydraulic
tank. Oil must be filtered through a
25micron filter before entering the
hydraulic tank.
Check Engine Bay for Debris:
Ensure that the engine bay is clear or any debris,
such as; leaves, litter, and unused trash bags.
Radiator Fluid Level:
Check coolant level in expansion tank (C) The
coolant level should be between the marks
indicated on the bottle. Top up if neccesary using a
50% antifreeze solution.
Radiator Cleanliness:
Check that the radiator bonnet screens (D) are
clean and that there is an un-interrupted air flow to
the engine. Raise the bonnet and check to ensure
that the radiator face (E) is clear, any debris should
be removed with a soft hand brush.
