Assembly Notes
NOTICE
• Assemble the reel valve by reversing the order of
disassembly.
• Lubricate all O-rings prior to assembly.
• Tighten relief valve (7) to 24–26 lb-ft (32.5–35.3 N·m)
• Tighten flow control valve (1) to 24

• Tighten solenoid valve to 24

35.3 N·m).
• Tighten -4 ORB plugs (4) to 11 lb
–
ft (15 N·m).
• Tighten -6 ORB plugs (5) and gauge port plug (10) to
17 lb-ft (23 N·m).
• Apply dielectric grease (Jacobsen PN 365422) to any
wire connectors disconnected.
• After assembling four bolts (8), completely cover bolt
holes on top of solenoid valve (16) with silicone
sealant.
• The solenoid coils (3 and 9) may appear the same,
but they are different. The solenoid coils must be
assembled in the correct location.
• Tighten coil nuts (6) to 10 lb-ft (13.5 N·m).
Charge Pressure Filter
Removal and Installation
1.
Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2.
Lift engine hood.
3.
Drain hydraulic oil tank. (See “Hydraulic Oil Tank—
Drain Procedure” on page 6-49.)

NOTES
• Label all hydraulic hoses to aid in installation.
• Close all openings with caps or plugs to prevent
contamination.

Disconnect hydraulic hose (1).

Disconnect charge pressure tube (2).

Remove fittings (3).

Support the oil filter assembly (4).

Remove four screws (5), lock washers (6) and flat
washers (7).
9.
Remove oil filter assembly (4).
Installation Notes
• Install oil filter assembly by reversing the order of
removal.
• Tighten fittings (3) to 100 lb
–
ft (135 N·m).
• Tighten hose and tube to 95 lb
–
ft (129 N·m).
• Refill hydraulic tank. (Refer to “Safety, Operation, and
Maintenance Manual” for oil specifications.)
• Start engine. Check hydraulic system for leaks.
Repair as necessary.
• Check hydraulic oil level and add if necessary.
It is important that all component parts are
absolutely clean, as contamination can result in
serious damage and/or improper operation.
Never use shop towels or rags to dry parts after
cleaning, as lint may clog passages. Dry parts
using compressed air.
