Front Cutting Units Circuit Test
See Figures 6-16 through 6-1
.
IMPORTANT
• Performing this test will isolate the front cutting
units pump, front reel valve, and right front reel
motor from the rest of the front cutting units
circuit.
• This test works together with the “Front Cutting
Units Circuit Test,” “Front Reel Valve Test,” and
Front Reel Motors Test,” to isolate a problem with
the front cutting units circuit.
WARNING
1.
Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2.
Raise the hood.

Disconnect hose (4) from fitting (2).

Install tee fitting (5) to fitting (2).
5.
Connect flow meter inlet hose (1) and front reel valve
hose (4) to tee fitting (5).
NOTE
Make sure hose end is lower than oil level in hydraulic
tank to prevent aeration of oil.

Secure flow meter outlet hose (3) to the hydraulic
tank fill neck.
WARNING
7.
Install suitable blocking device or tool in right front
cutting unit, preventing the reel motor from turning.

Open flow meter valve (6) completely.

Block both sides of rear wheels using suitable wheel
blocks.
The hydraulic system is under pressure, and the
oil will be hot.
• Always relieve pressure in the hydraulic
system before performing service.
• Failure to follow appropriate safety
precautions may result in death or serious
injury.
Required Tools and Materials
• Flow Meter
• -6 ORFS Test Hose 4000 psi (276 bar)
• -6 ORFS Tee Fitting
• Blocking Device or Tool

Safely block cutting unit from rotating using a
suitable device or tool. Failure to follow
appropriate safety precautions may result in
death or serious injury.
