tions. Any other work should be performed by
your dealer.
40. Inspect cooling air slots on the motor housing at
regular intervals for clog-ups and clean as neces-
sary.
41. Only use original spare parts.
42. Only use original cutting heads and replacement
spools. Never use metal cutting devices.
43. Clean plastic parts with a damp cloth. Do not use
aggressive cleaning chemicals.
44. Never hose down the electric trimmer!
45. Store trimmer indoors in a dry, high or locked
place and always keep out of reach of children.
Important notice - so your guarantee does not expire:
•
Always keep the air-intake clean.
•
Never use a longer line than the blade- retainer
allows to use.
•
Only use original monofilaments with 1,4 mm ø and
original spools.
•
Never press the cutting head on the ground, when
doing this you brake the turned-on motor.
•
Never hit the cutting head on a hard underground,
otherwise you will unbalance and damage the
motor shaft.
5. Mounting the protection cover
(fig. 1)
Place the protection cover onto the trimmer housing in
such a way that the 2 round guide edges sit at the casing
exactly into the openings of the protective covering.
Press down the protective covering at the protection cover
at and turns you to the fortification the two included
screws one.
Attention:
request it heeds you that the protective
covering doesn’t turn you on the casing around puts down.
The surviving edge must show to the back, to the grip.
Attention: (fig. 1) To protect users from cuts through
the thread cutter fixed to the protection cap, a plastic
cover is put on the cutter blade of your lawn trimmer
(X). This plastic cover has to be removed before
operating the trimmer. Please keep this cover carefully
and use it when the trimmer is moved or stored.
6. Connecting the trimmer
(fig. 2)
The machine can only be used on single-phase AC current.
It is double-insulated in accordance with Class II VDE 0700
and EEC 20. Before using the trimmer, ensure that the
mains voltage is the same as the operating voltage shown
on the rating plate.
Wires of extension cord must have the following minimum
cross sectional area:
1,5 mm2
• Connect trimmer’s plug to extension cord coupling.
• Make a loop in the extension cord, push it through the
opening in the handle and hook over the lug (strain
relief).
• After finishing work, unhook loop from lug and pull it out
of the handle.
7. Switching on / off
(fig. 3)
To operate your grass trimmer:
• Make sure you have a secure footing.
• Hold the trimmer firmly (with both hands).
• Stand upright - hold trimmer in relaxed position.
• Do not rest the cutting head on the ground.
• Squeeze the switch 1.
• The trimmer is switched off when you release the switch.
8. Adjusting the inclination angle and shaft
length
Adjusting the shaft length (fig. 4): Push button 1 and
adjust shaft to the most convenient position (3 locking
positions).Push button 2 and adjust the front handle to
its optimum position.
Adjusting the inclination angle (fig. 5): Push button 3 -
the trimmer head is unlocked and can be swung into two
other position in relation to the shaft.
The centre position shall be applied to conveniently
reach under objects as, for example, bushes or garden
furniture with the trimmer. The lower position is required
when cutting edges as described in the following para-
graph.
Adjustment for edge trimming: Push button 1 and turn
the handle as far as it will go (180°) (fig. 6). Trimming the
edges (fig. 10).
9. Trimming Grass and Weeds
(fig. 8)
• Sweep trimmer back and forth uniformly to cut small
patches of grass or weeds. The trimmer is not con-
structed and suitable for cutting large areas.
• Wherever possible, cut with left-hand side so that cut-
tings, dust and stones are thrown forwards, away from
the user.
• Ideal working conditions are achieved if the trimmer
is tilted to the left at an angle approx. of 30°.
10. Adjusting nylon line
Check the nylon line regularly if it is damaged or if it still
has the correct length.
When cutting performance deteriorates: Hold the run-
ning trimmer above a patch of grass. Tap the cutting head
on the ground (fig. 9). Note the fresh line will be ad-
vanced only if lines are still at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) long.
If the lines are shorter: Switch off the trimmer, disconnect
plug from power supply. Press in the spool and pull end of
lines firmly outwards (fig. 10). If end of lines are not
visible - see point 11 (replacement of spool).
Your trimmer has a thread cutting blade that continuously
cuts the thread down to the appropriate length (fig. 11).
Note:
Clean the thread cutting blade from grass remain-ders
in order to guarantee an unaffected cutting performance.
Attention:
Danger of injury through the cutting blade !
11. Replacement of spool
First, switch off and unplug the device. Wait until the nylon
thread has come to a halt. T hen push the two locking
