Rope access system (e.g., rope
adjustment device to EN 12841, rope to
EN 1891)
It is crucial to safety to select the position of
the anchor point and the way the work is done
such that the free fall and the
height of a fall are
restricted to a minimum.
It is crucial to safety to
ensure, prior to any work assignment, that there
is enough free space underneath the user at the
work site (
prevention of an impact
on the ground
or on an obstacle).
Flexible anchor lines must not be placed across
sharp edges!
Pendulum motions during falls must
be avoided by selecting a suitable anchor point.
LIMITATIONS OF USE
Never carry out work with this product if, as a
result of your physical or mental condition, your
safety might be compromised in scenarios of nor-
mal use or in emergencies!
Any modifications or additions not explicitly de
-
scribed in this manufacturer's information are
prohibited and may be performed only by the
manufacturer.
Individual markings/designations directly on the
textile components of the products by means of
permanent markers or stickers are not admissible,
as the chemical substances contained therein may
adversely affect the strength of these materials.
TO BE OBSERVED PRIOR TO USE
Prior to every use, the product must be subject-
ed to a visual inspection and a function check in
order to verify its integrity, readiness for use and
proper functioning. (Possible malfunctions might
be caused, e.g., by soiled or iced movable mechan-
ical parts).
Once the equipment has been subjected to a fall,
it must be retired from use immediately. Even if
only the slightest doubt remains, the product shall
be retired or must not be used again until a com-
petent person, having subjected such product to
relevant testing and inspections, has approved its
further use in writing.
It must be ensured that the recommendations
for
use with other components
be met: Further
components for personal fall protection purposes
must meet the respective harmonized standards
of Regulation (EU) 2016/425. By combining pieces
of equipment in a way that will compromise the
safe functioning of one of these pieces of equip-
ment or of the combination as a whole, you will be
putting yourself in danger! Ensure that all compo-
nents are compatible. Ensure that all components
are arranged correctly. Failure to do so increases
the risk of severe or fatal injuries. The user is
responsible for ensuring that a relevant and “live”
(up-to-date) risk assessment is in place for the
work to be carried out, which also includes emer-
gency contingencies.
A plan of rescue measures that covers all fore-
seeable emergencies needs to be in place before
this product can be used. Prior to and during use,
consideration should be given to how rescue mea-
sures can be executed safely and effectively.
SUSPENSION TRAUMA:
Remaining suspended motionless in a harness for
longer periods of time (e.g., after having fainted)
may cause one’s blood circulation to be restricted
and consequently lead to a so-called "suspension
trauma” –
MORTAL DANGER! – Call EMERGENCY
SERVICES immediately!
Possible symptoms of a suspension trauma in-
clude paleness of the skin, excessive perspiration,
shortness of breath, impaired vision, dizziness, and
nausea. (This list is incomplete, as symptoms may
vary considerably from one person to another).
Therefore, affected persons should, if still able to
do so, take suitable self-help measures in order to
prevent blood congestion in the legs (e.g., by mov-
ing the legs or taking the weight off the leg loops,
e.g., by standing in foot loops).
Where this is not possible, it will be crucial to res-
cue the person from the suspended position as
fast as possible
and take the necessary first aid measures.
CAUTION! DO NOT PLACE THE PERSON IN A
POSITION FLAT ON THE GROUND or SHOCK
POSITION RIGHT AWAY -> MORTAL DANGER!
Place the accident victim either in a sitting or a
squatting position or, if unconscious, in a stable
side position, if possible with the upper body ele-
vated (avoidance of heart failure due to the exces-
sively fast return flow of blood from the lower half
of the body).
