Setup and connection
Setup location
Ideally, you should place the subwoofer under your
•
computer table and the speakers to the right and left of
the monitor.
Select a stable, level base.
•
Make sure that the environment is clean and free from
•
dust.
Avoid placing the unit close to sources of heat or in
•
direct sunlight.
Arrange the connector cables so that they do not pose
•
a trip hazard.
Do not place any heavy objects on the cables or the
•
speakers.
Mounting the spikes
Screw the four spikes
f
into the four threaded holes on
the bottom of the subwoofer. These spikes ensure that the
device has a stable position. Additionally, they minimise
vibrations and provide enough space for the subwoofer’s
resonance opening. The subwoofer may not be used
without spikes.
Setting up the speakers
You can set up the two satellite speakers either in an
upright position or on their side using the stands included:
g
e
Screw the stand
e
into the desired position with a screw
g
(see graphic). Stick four of the rubber feet
h
under the
stand to prevent vibrations.
Connecting the speakers
Lay the speaker cable from your subwoofer to each
•
of the speakers. This cable should be a high-quality
double-core speaker cable with marked wires. The
cross-section should amount to at least 1.0 mm
2
.
A connector terminal with two terminals is located on
•
the back of the speakers, one is marked red (+) and
the other black (-).
Make sure the polarity is correct!
Connect the like coloured terminals with one
another. Otherwise the sound quality will
suffer. The wires of the speaker cables are marked with
different colours or forms.
Split the core on both ends up to approximately 30 mm
•
and remove approximately 10 mm of the insulation on
each piece. Twist the core so that no wires are protrud-
ing.
Turn the connector terminal counterclockwise until
•
loose. Run the stripped cable end into the hole that is
now visible. Turn the terminal clockwise. The cable has
now been clamped in place.
Connect all cables to the speakers this way.
•
Also connect the respective other end of the speaker
•
cable to the connections

“Speaker out” on the sub-
woofer (“Right” = right speaker, “Left” = left speaker)
in this way.
RCA input “Line In”
You can connect your PC or almost any other audio
source to the RCA jacks
3
“Line In”, such as MP3 players
(with/without a docking station), video game systems,
televisions etc. The source device only needs an output
with line level. These kinds of outputs are configured as
stereo RCA jacks or as 3.5 mm mini jacks. With a corre-
sponding connector cable, you can connect these devices
to the jacks
3
“Line In”. You can purchase these cables in
our webshop (www.teufel.eu) in the “Accessories” area.
Connecting a microphone
You can connect a microphone (e. g. from a headset) to
the jack
12
“
Mic
” on the front of the remote control. This
mono sound input is then transmitted from the mini-jack
2
“
Mic. Out
” on the back of the subwoofer. Connect this
jack with the microphone input of your PC. You will need
a connector cable with two mini-jacks for this, which you
can purchase in our webshop (www.teufel.eu) in the “Ac-
cessories” area.
The microphone input is also active when the amplifier is
in standby mode.
Headphones
You can connect stereo headphones to the jack
5
“
Phone
”. The speakers are automatically deactivated in
the process.
