Passenger Front Airbag Must Be OFF
WARNING: Never seat a child in a rear-facing child restraint system in the front passenger seat, even if using a
child safety seat. DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY to the child could occur. Always ensure this airbag is OFF (see
Airbags on page 53 ).
Refer to the following label fitted to the sun visors:
To disable the front airbag on the passenger side of the vehicle, touch Controls > Safety > Passenger Front Airbag ,
and then ensure that the passenger airbag status in the top corner of the touchscreen indicates that the airbag is off:
Before driving with a child seat on the front passenger seat, always double-check the status of the
passenger front airbag to confirm that it is OFF.
To protect an adult subsequently occupying the front passenger seat, remember to turn the
passenger front airbag back ON.
WARNING: It is the driver's responsibility to confirm that the passenger front airbag is OFF when a child is
seated in the front passenger seat.
WARNING: If the passenger front airbag is ON, contact Tesla immediately.
Suitability and Fitting of Child Restraint Systems
All Model X seat belts are designed for adults. When seating infants and children, you must:
• Use a child restraint system appropriate for the child’s age, weight, or size (see Recommended Child Restraint
Systems on page 35 ).
• Use a child restraint system that is appropriate for the specific seating position in Model X. For details on what
type of child restraint system can be used in each passenger seat, see Front Passenger Seat on page 37 ,
Second Row Outboard Seats (Bench Seats) on page 38 or Second Row Outboard Seats (Monopost Seats) on
page 40 , Second Row Center Seat (Bench or Monopost) on page 42 , and Third Row Seats on page 43 .
• Properly install the child restraint system by following the manufacturer's instructions (see Installing Belt-based
Child Restraint Systems on page 45 and Installing ISOFIX Child Restraint Systems on page 45 for general
guidelines).
WARNING: You must disable Easy Entry into the third row whenever a child seat is installed in the second row
(see Accessing Third Row Seats (if equipped) - Monopost Seating on page 28 and Accessing Third Row Seats
(if equipped) - Bench Seating on page 29 ).
