Before operating your appliance:

place the machine head vertically into

the soup

maker jug and press down steadily to ensure the mains connec-

tor engages fully but DO NOT use force.
The blades on this appliance are sharp. Treat them with care and never
allow fingers, hair, or clothing to come into contact with a blade.
DO NOT interrupt operation, raise the machine head to check progress or
add additional ingredients and then resume operation.
When adding very hot liquids into the appliance jug; add them slowly.
Steam escapes from a gap between the appliance jug and the machine
head. DO NOT place your unprotected hands near the this gap when the
appliance is in use or you may be scalded by hot escaping steam.
During and after a soup making programme, condensation forms around
the lid. From time to time, it may be necessary to wipe the condensation
away with a kitchen towel.

DO NOT

use the appliance to heat (or reheat) ANY liquids or to boil water.

Always

use the correct machine function. In particular do not pro-

cess “SMOOTH” foods with the  “CHUNKY” button and vice versa. The
“SOYMILK” function is specific to preparing soymilk only.

At the end of the cycle:

do not lift off the machine head until the blade

has stopped rotating. When lifting the machine head from the appliance
hold it by the handle only and do not touch the lower part of the head as
it may be hot. DANGER OF BURNS.

After each operation cycle, allow the appliance to cool fully then clean the
appliance to prevent food sticking to the bottom of the jug and burning.
DO NOT use the appliance for making continuous batches of soup.
Over time the bottom of the metal liner in the appliance jug may discol-
our. This will not impede normal operation or taint the food.
Any burnt-on food must be removed before the appliance is used again.
Refer to the cleaning section for advice.

If there is a power cut or if the power cord is accidentally pulled out:

If the power is restored within 3 minutes the internal memory of the ap-
pliance will restore normal operation. If the power is removed for longer
than three minutes, the appliance will reset itself. Any contents should
now be discarded and the machine must be cleaned before further use.
During operation the appliance cycles through various modes including
periods of rest, so the fact that the appliance is silent is NOT an indication
that the appliance has malfunctioned.
When you first begin to use this product, please add ingredients in strict
accordance with your recipe when using this product, otherwise, the re-
sults may be unsatisfactory. In particular weights and measures must be
strictly adhered to. After you get used to the operation you can vary the
ingredients.
By using leftover ingredients from your fridge you can cook up some fan-
tastic recipes and save money too!
