Quantum System Cell Expansion Sets
Cell expansion sets are functionally closed tubing sets for use with the Quantum Cell Expansion System.
Figure 2-9 shows an example of a cell expansion set; the cell expansion set you use may look slightly
different.
Note: For specific information about a tubing set, such as sterility, warnings, cautions, and definitions for symbols
that appear on the kit and case labels of the set, refer to the instructions for use that ship with the tubing set.
Each cell expansion set includes the following main components:

A hollow-fiber bioreactor
• A gas transfer module
• An intracapillary (IC) circulation loop
• An extracapillary (EC) circulation loop
• A sample coil
• A sample port with a 0.2 micron filter
• Four pressure pods
• Five inlet lines
• A harvest line with a 1 L harvest bag connected
• An outlet line with a 4 L waste bag connected
