5. Check for loose or worn cables. Replace if worn.
ADJUSTING THE BRUSH HEIGHT
The brush height is factory set to accommodate
commercial grade loop pile carpets. When operating
machine on taller carpet piles, the brush height must
be adjusted accordingly. If the brush height is not
properly adjusted, the brush circuit breaker may trip.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower the
brush base and turn the key to the OFF position.
FOR SAFETY: Before leaving or servicing
machine, stop on level surface and turn off
machine.
2. Remove the metal shroud above the brush base
to access the two adjustment knobs (Figure 39).
FIG. 39
3. Using a 7/16” wrench, loosen the top and bottom
jam nuts on the two adjustment knobs, 2 nuts per
knob (Figure 40).

4. Turn the adjustment knobs counter-clockwise to
raise brush and clockwise to lower. Make sure to
turn both knobs EQUALLY in order to keep brush
parallel to the floor. One full turn of the knob will
move the brush 1.5mm (1/16”). Retighten the top
and bottom jam nuts after adjustment is made and
replace the metal shroud.
5. To adjust the brush height back to the original
factory set height, place the machine on a hard
floor surface and lower the brush base to the floor.
Following the adjustment procedure, adjust the
brush height so that the brush bristles just touch
the floor then turn both knobs 3 full turns
counter-clockwise (Figure 41).
