AA-02 ADAPTOR ACCESORY
The AA-02 adapter is thought to be interposed between the
telephone and the original handset of the phone. Once
connected, it restores the correct connections to allow
operation in a totally transparent way for the user of the
device. It must be powered by a mains adapter supplied with
the device. The voice is available on a screw terminal from
which must be taken and brought to the recording system.
The installation of the device does not affect the ability to
perform routine maintenance of the appliance components
as all the parts in question connected with practical
telephone plugs. AA-02 is used on telephones where there is
no "return" of the voice from the microphone to the receiver
of the handset. In fact, not presenting the “local” effect on
the recorder, would be recorded only the voice of the other
party and not the person who is speaking using the device
under surveillance.
CONNECTION DETAILS
The device has two separate inputs. Two wires marked R1-R2 are the first input, two other wires marked
M1-M2 are the second input. The phone plugs PLG1 and PLG2 are connected directly to each other to
restore the connection of the handset. To collect the signals (one from the microphone, and one from the
headset), it is required that for example M1 and M2 are to be connected to the two wires that connect the
microphone in the handset while R1 and R2 are to be connected on the remaining two wires that connect the
receiving capsule on the handset. If these wires are known, for example, we know that the headset is on the
two external contacts of the handset cord, we will connect the two jumpers R1 and R2 on the points marked
1 and 4. Bearing in mind that each device has a particular connection and may be different from model to
model, the association of the inputs to the correct wires is obtained by inserting the strips of points R1, R2,
M1, M2 in points 1, 2, 3, 4 which are in practice the signals of the cable that connects the telephone handset.
For another phone model, you may need to prepare the strips in a completely different way. After connecting
the device as shown, you must test it. Make a phone call to see if the voice of telephone headset and
microphone of the handset comes and is properly recorded on the recorder channel. Our party will have to
confirm that our speech is of the usual quality after installing the device. If not, it could means that the circuit
is taking the voice from wrong wires.
Note
The circuit is also suitable for mixing a microphone source and a monitor loudspeaker source (for
example a half-duplex radio station, always opened radio channels, etc.). In this case, for the connection,
use only one of two plug input indistinctly.
