RAM is used to store data entered into the PTC and
application configuration settings. Data stored in
RAM can be easily read, written, and changed. It is
also volatile. All data in RAM will be lost if the PTC’s
battery pack and backup system run out of power.
The amount of memory in your PTC determines how
much data you can enter before you have to send it
to a host computer or print it. Various amounts of
memory are available from Telxon, and the amount
actually installed in your PTC has been determined
by your organization’s needs.
