Tellabs 8820 Multi-service Switch Router System Installation

Installation

Load the Chassis (Optional)

Inserting the PLMs

To install a PLM into a slot use the following procedure:

Step 1

Locate the slot for the PLM.

Step 2

Gently slide the PLM into that slot.

Make sure the extractors are fully extracted.

Step 3

When the extractors are in position, gently close the extractors (

Figure 4-9

You will feel the PLM pop into its slot.

Step 4

Tighten the thumb screws gently and fully clockwise.

Be careful: make sure the screws go into their threads.

Step 5

Insert and lock the remaining PLMs into each slot. Use a blank panel to cover any
unused slots in the system.
