Unpacking and Site Preparation
Unpacking the 8820 MSR
Verify Receipt
Step 3
Remove the top of each PLM package to reveal a module encased with foam pads
and an ESD anti-static bag. Remove each wrapped module from its carton and
place the PLM on a non-static surface where it can be inspected.
Step 4
Insert the PLMs into a 8820 MSR chassis. See the section
for more information on this procedure.
Verify Receipt
Compare the contents of the shipping container against the packaging list to ensure you
have received all components required for installation of the 8820 MSR. If any components
are missing, contact the

Returning Products to Tellabs
Use the procedure in this section to authorize return of defective product(s) to Tellabs.
Step 1
Contact
Tellabs Advanced Data Products Technical Support
to request a
Return Material Authorization (RMA) number.
Step 2
Carefully repackage the equipment in the original container(s). Include a copy of
the original bill of lading.
Step 3
Ship to the Tellabs postal address
—Attn RMA Department—and mark
the outside of your shipping container to clearly show your assigned RMA
number. Tellabs will return any equipment to you if it arrives without an RMA
number.
