Connecting the Cables
Cable types
Shielded cables are required on all interfaces except DC and AC power. This
in order to ensure compliance with the EMC directive. It is the responsibility
of the user to provide and use shielded cables.

Warning:
During installation it is vital that all interconnection cables are not
exposed to overheating from external sources.
To connect the transport
and management cables
The following procedure describes how to connect the transport and manage-
ment cables to the Tellabs 6325 node. Some steps might not be relevant for
your specific configuration. In these situations you just go to the next step.
Warning:
Care must be taken to protect optical connectors against dust, touch-
ing and all contact with other objects.
Note:
All disconnected optical connectors must be covered with dust protect-
ing caps. Do not remove these caps until immediately before installing.

To ensure the best possible optical connections, it is recommended to
clean the optical connectors before use. Use the following items:
Lens-cleaning tissue, 2-propanol and Pressurized clean air.
