10.3 Output Signal Control
This section provides information about the use of the OUT1 and OUT 2 connectors on
the rear of the NIRvana HS. The signals at these connectors can be used to monitor
camera operation or synchronize with external equipment.
The TTL-compatible logic level output (i.e., 0 to +3.3 V
DC
) from the OUT 1/OUT 2
connectors on the rear panel can be used to monitor camera status and control
external devices. By default, the logic output level is high while the action is occurring.
The timing of the level changes depends on the output type selected on the Trigger
expander.
The timing diagram shown in
Figure 10-5 compares timing for the following three
signals:
• Reading Out
It is at a logic high when the sensor is being read; otherwise low.
• Shutter Open
This level is at a logic high when the shutter is open. The output precisely
brackets shutter-open time (exclusive of shutter close delay time, t
c
,) and can
be used to control an external shutter or to inhibit a pulser or timing generator.
• Acquiring
Initially low, this signal goes high to mark the beginning of the first exposure. It
remains high until the system is halted. If a specific number of frames have been
programmed, it remains high until all have been taken and then returns low.
The timing diagram in
Figure 10-5 assumes three frames have been
programmed.
