1.2. General Information
1.2.1. Features
The Behnke camera module integrates an Axis
M3066-V type camera behind a series 20 or
50 Behnke Telecom modular system or as a
43-2940 reverse side camera.
The camera provides videos with a resolution
of up to 2304x1728 pixels. A maximum of 25
images per second may be transmitted, regard-
less of resolution settings. The camera may
be integrated into standard video surveillance
systems. The camera is also equipped with
LED illumination for use in poorly lit areas. The
video may be transferred to a video surveillance
system via HTTP or via RSTP streaming. The
camera provides an open interface (VAPIX).
The corresponding documentation is available
from AXIS Communications on their websites.
Various compression methods are available
(see specifications)
1.2.2. Determine the camera position
Please note the following advice on camera
position when installing your Behnke door
intercom system:
In order to receive an image
feed, you need a lot more than to simply point
the camera in the direction of an object or a
person. The lighting situation, the camera's
angle of view (horizontal / vertical), reflectance
from other light sources and sunlight, back
lighting and blind spots all have an influence
on your future image quality. It is important that
you avoid direct sunlight, as the camera shutter
will reduce light incidence into the camera and
consequently will reduce the image sensor
performance. Therefore, try to have the sun
behind the camera when choosing your camera
position. In order to prevent problems from
back lighting when filming objects or people,
you should consider changing the surrounding
area by changing the camera position. Where it
proves to be impossible to change the camera
position, the object or person in question
should be sufficiently lit from the front. Please
note that suitable measures must be taken
to prevent the formation of condensation in
these components when installing the rear
view camera 43-2940 in or on components
provided by the customer (cf. the instructions
for your Behnke basic electronics “Outdoor
installation”). When operating the camera in
conjunction with a rain shield, a small portion
of the rain shield may appear in the field of view
due to the large aperture angle of the camera.
