17. Open now the user manual of the corresponding
Carephone. In order to program the Carephone for GSM
use and configure the settings, follow the instructions
given in the user manual. The programming steps that are
specific to the GSM Module are visible at
Section 3.1 Programming steps specific to the GSM Module,
Page 41 .
18. The GSM Module will initialize. A LED indicator is visible on
the top of the GSM Module. See Section 3.5 GSM Module
LED indicator, Page 44 .
19. Connect the internal backup battery of the Carephone.
20. Close the top cover of the Carephone.
21. Insert the power plug into the Carephone.
Perform a test call periodically . Refer to the user manual of the
corresponding Carephone to see how to make a test call . Do not
move the device during the test call. Test also the signal
strength, see Section 3.3 Test the GSM Module signal strength,
