Installation
Chapter 6: Installation
Please before going on read carefully the chapter “Safety instruction”,
previous in this manual.
The recommendation given in this Manual, both here and under
“Proper use of TEL-MAR equipments” should be followed throughout.
This is largely a matter of accepted practice, dictated also by the nature of the premises in
which the equipment is to be used. The equipment should be installed by suitable and skilled
personnel and in accord with accepted standards of workmanship.
6.1 Operating environment features
◊
For TEL-MAR equipments designed for indoor use, the ambient temperature where
equipment is installed shall be within -10°C and +45°C, unless stated otherwise.
◊
All equipment should be installed on a level floor, out of the way of any outside weather
ingress. If plinths or tables are to be used below the equipment, these should first be
checked for strength and level. Racks with wheels should either have the wheels
removed or wooden blocks should be screwed to the floor to prevent any movement.
◊
The equipment must be located so that all hand drive can be easily entered.
◊
The hot air exhausts from the cooling ducts which are on the rear panel. Position the
unit in such a way that the hot air can exit freely and so that the entrance and the exit of
air never can be blocked, all or in part. Within reason, equipment should not be near to
other hot surfaces and adequate space should be left to allow passage or air for
cooling; it is suggested that racks are placed not less than 300mm from any wall.
Care should be taken never to allow the possibility of obstructing air
inlet or exit vents
◊
The AC supply (or DC in certain circumstances) voltage and power available should be
consistent with the figures given on the equipment rating plate(s).
◊
Equipments designed for indoor use, must be located in ambient protected from bad
weather conditions.
