Shelf Management Controller (ShMC)
The front panel provides console interfaces and indicators for maintenance as well as
configuration access to the shelf manager functions. The ShMC front panel is shown in
Figure 2.3
. Each front panel item is described in more detail in the following sections.

Ethernet Ports
The front panel has two Gigabit Ethernet ports labeled A and B. The ports are RJ-45
connectors, and each connector has a link status and port status indicator LED.
