Unpacking and inspection for damage
The 6517B was carefully inspected electrically and mechanically before shipment.
There may be a protective film over the display lens, which can be removed.
Before removing the 6517B from the antistatic bag, observe the following handling precautions:
•
Always grasp the 6517B by the cover.
•
After removing the 6517B from its antistatic bag, inspect it for any obvious signs of physical
damage. Report any damage to the shipping agent immediately.
•
When the 6517B is not installed and connected, keep the instrument in its antistatic bag and store
it in the original packing carton.
Save the original packing carton for future shipment.

When you request service, you need the serial number and firmware or software version of
the instrument.
