Matefaims
To be prepared 1 hour in advance.
About 20 matefaims • Cooking time: 2,5 min. on each side
Matefaim batter
• 250 g plain flour • 1/2 liter milk • 2 eggs • 1 tablespoon cooking oil • salt
Place the flour in a bowl. Make a well in the centre. Break in the whole
eggs. Add the oil, salt and half of the milk. Beat hard with a wooden
spoon until it is well mixed. Gradually add the remaining milk until the
batter is smooth and the consistency of double cream. Leave for 1 hour.
Matefaim Caroline
Thinly slice a banana. Begin cooking the matefaim on the appliance.
Before the top of matefaim have set, place the banana slices on top.
Cover with some more batter, and continue cooking. Turn over and cook
the other side. Serve sprinkled with honey and rum.
