Selecting the Color System
PAL :
Select PAL when a PAL TV is connected.
NTSC :
Select NTSC When a NTSC TV(U.S. standard) is connected.
MULTI :
Select MULTI When a MULTI TV is connected.
Note:

You can override the color system setting whenever necessary
simply by pressing the NTSC/PAL button on the remote control
unit.

Angle Mark Setting
Select whether the angle mark appears on the TV screen or
not when a multi-angles scene is being played. Some, but not
all, DVDs offer multiple camera angles to the viewer. If there
are multiple angles available, and the “ANGLE MARK” option
is on, the Angle Mark icon will appear as shown below. If the
DVD being viewed do NOT have multiple angles available,
there will be no icon displayed regardless of the setting on this
menu.
ON:
ANGLE MARK appears on the TV screen.
OFF:
ANGLE MARK does not appear.

Selecting the Language for OSD
You can select the language for OSD (On Screen Display). This
setting allows you select a preferred language for the SET UP
menu and operating messages. The default language is
ENGLISH.

Screen Saver Setting
Turns on or off the screen saver.
If you turn on the screen saver, the screen saver image
appears when you leave the system in pause or stop mode for
5 minutes. The screen saver is useful to prevent your display
from becoming damaged.

Some wide-screen discs that do not permit Pan & Scan mode
playback are automatically played in Letterbox mode.

Depending on the DVD, 4:3 Letterbox may be selected
automatically instead of 4:3 Pan & Scan and vice versa.

You must also set the screen mode on your wide-screen TV to
"FULL".

If WIDE is selected and a normal TV is connected, 16:9 content
will appear distorted during playback (objects look thin).
GENERAL SETUP
Selecting the TV Aspect
NORMAL/PS(Pan & Scan mode)
When you connect a normal (4:3 aspect ratio) TV to the
system, this setting displays a wide picture on the whole TV
screen with a portion (right and left sides of the picture)
automatically cut off.
NORMAL/LB(Letterbox mode)
When you connect a normal (4:3 aspect ratio) TV to the
system, this setting displays a wide picture with black bands
displayed on the upper and lower portions of the screen. You
will see the entire wide screen picture on the screen.
WIDE(Wide-screen mode)
Use this setting when you connect a wide-screen (16:9 aspect
ratio) TV to the system.
