Maintenance Guide

Care and Maintenance of the Print Heads

To ensure optimum printing, the print heads need to be maintained in good condition. There are
two kinds of maintenance: daily maintenance and periodical maintenance.

Daily care maintenance

Normal cleaning

We recommend performing Normal Cleaning every day before the start of operations.

Periodical care and maintenance

Print heads are consumable parts and subject to wear. Depending on frequency of use,
periodical replacement is required.

Periodical Cleaning Maintenance

About Periodical Cleaning Menus

There are four levels of cleaning for this machine. Choose the appropriate menu in accordance
with the machine condition and previous use.

Normal Cleaning: Carry out test printing before the start of daily operations, if dot drop
out occurs, perform Normal Cleaning.

Medium Cleaning: If dot drop-out is not corrected by one level of cleaning, move to the
next level, e.g. Normal Cleaning > Medium Cleaning > Powerful Cleaning.

Powerful Cleaning: If dot drop-out is not corrected by one level of cleaning, move to the
next level, e.g. Normal Cleaning > Medium Cleaning > Powerful Cleaning.

Manual Head Cleaning: Perform Manual Head Cleaning in accordance with the frequency
of use. To maintain reliable output conditions, perform Manual Head Cleaning at least
once a month.
