. Your instrument is
a useful device for warming slides to attach frozens or smoothing out the wrinkles of a
freshly prepared paraffin section. Individual user preference, as to whether you touch the
slide to the heated plate or hover it above, is determined by the time required to obtain the
desired effect. A little experimenting with various positions and time is all that it takes to
find what works best in your lab. As the paraffin begins to become transparent before fully
melting, remove the slide and stain as normal. You will find that your sections are virtually
wrinkle-free.
