MASTER CYLINDER
There are no internally serviceable components in the
master cylinder. If the master cylinder is faulty, it must
be replaced
Add Fluid
1: Thoroughly clean the area around the master
cylinder cap and remove the cap.
2:
Add brake fluid from a new sealed container to
the master cylinder until it as the maximum level
line molded in the reservoir.

PARKING BRAKE

WARNING
Inspect
The brake pads and rotor should be inspected anytime
the park brake requires adjustment.
Adjust
The parking brake is actuated through a pin in the center
of the rear left and right brake body on the rear axles.
The brake pads and rotor should be inspected anytime
the park brake requires adjustment.
1: Check the angle of the brake cable to brake arm
on the cross shaft. It should be between 85º and
90º. Adjust the cable if it is not within tolerance.
Note The return spring must be connected to
check the angle of the brake arm.
2: Disconnect the return spring and loosen both left
and right cross shaft link jam nuts.
3: Pull the parking brake handle until it stops on the
second click.
4: Adjust the left side link until the clevis pin is
difficult to rotate.
5: Adjust the right side link until the clevis pin is
difficult to rotate.
6: Return the park brake handle to its fully released
position.
7: Inspect to be sure that the clevis pins in both
cross shaft links are free to rotate. Repeat the
procedure if any one pin is binding.
8: Reconnect the return spring and tighten all jam
nuts.
9: Install new cotter pins in all clevis pins that were
removed.
10: Release the park brake and check for brake
drag. Adjust the cross shaft links as required to
eliminate any drag.
11: Test drive.
