Calculation for different distributions
In case of using a tractor speed and a distance between distribution bands different
from the previous tables, follow the calculation below to find the scale opening:
Example:
Dosage = 2,700 kg per hectare. (dry lime).
Tractor speed = 06 km/h (constant).
Distance between distribution bands = 06 meters.
Power take-off = 540 rpm (constant).
1) Convert the dosage to grams/m²
.
2,700 / 10,000 m² = 0.27 kg/m² or 270 grams/m².
2) Calculate the area that will be worked in 01 (one) hour.
6,000 m/h (speed) x 6.0 m (distance between distribution bands) - 36,000 m²/h
3) Knowing that 01 hour = 60 minutes or 3,600 seconds, divide the found area in m²
by seconds to obtain m²/second.
36,000 m² / 3,600 seconds = 10 m²/second.
4) Multiply m²/seconds by grams/m²; so:
10 m²/seconds x 270 grams/m² = 2,700 grams/second.
5) Now just convert the result to kg and compare with the second row of the
corresponding table.
2,700 / 1,000 = 2.7 kg/second.
6) See in the dry lime table that the opening will be close to 5.0.
