9 – Other functions
Setting the automatic power saving
function
When the automatic power saving function is on, the unit will
enter standby mode under the following conditions.
0
If 30 minutes pass while stopped or paused when the current
source is
CD
,
USB
or
SD
.
0
If 30 minutes pass without pairing when the current source is
BLUETOOTH
.
0
If 8 hours pass when the current source is
AUX
, regardless of
whether or not there is an input signal.
NOTE
When the current source is
DAB
or
FM
, the unit will not enter
standby even if the automatic power saving function is on.

Select the
APS Setting
item on the
Menu
screen to open the
APS Setting
screen. (see “Menu operation procedures” on
APS Setting
< ON >
2.
Turn the automatic power saving function on/off.
Options:
OFF
,
ON
(default)
3.
Confirm the setting and return to the
Menu
screen.
Adjusting the analog output
If sound distorts from an output destination device at maximum
output level, you can use this unit's analog output level function,
which lowers the output level, to stop distortion.
1.
Select the
A.Out Att.
item on the
Menu
screen to open the
A.Out Att.
screen. (see “Menu operation procedures” on
A.Out Att.

Set the analog output level.
Options:
OFF
(default),
-1dB
to
-18dB
(in 1dB intervals)

Confirm the setting and return to the
Menu
screen.

This adjusts the output level from the ANALOG OUT (UNBAL-
ANCED) L/R, ANALOG OUT (BALANCED) L/R and PHONES
jacks. They cannot be set independently.

The analog output level of the input signal from the AUX IN
jack cannot be adjusted.
Serial mode setting (when sold-sepa-
rately Ethernet card installed)
This unit can be set to allow control by serial communication us-
ing either RS-232C or any Ethernet card (sold separately).

screen to open the
Serial Mode
screen. (see “Menu operation procedures” on
Serial Mode

Set the serial mode.
Options:
RS-232C
(default),
Ethernet

Confirm the setting and return to the
Menu
screen.
NOTE
The serial mode setting is retained even when the unit is
turned off.
Using the RS-232C connector
Serial control through the CONTROL I/O RS-232C connector
(9-pin D-sub RS-232C standard) can be used to operate this unit
from a computer or other external device.
Setting the transmission speed (baud rate)

Select the

Menu
screen to open the
Baud Rate
screen. (see “Menu operation procedures” on

Set the transmission speed (baud rate).

Using the AUX IN jack
The AUX IN jack can be used for playback from portable audio
players and other devices.

Connect the AUX IN jack to a portable audio player or other
device.
