SETTING UP
Having checked all connections, plug your subwoofer into a mains outlet, with the power switch on the back of the
unit set to OFF. You can operate the subwoofer in two modes, AUTO and ON continuously. In AUTO, the unit
remains OFF until an input signal is detected, and will revert to stand-by mode after approximately 10 minutes in
the absence of an input signal. Firstly set VOLUME control to MIN, and the CROSSOVER control to mid position
(LFE). Set the PHASE switch to NORMAL. The POWER light will turn from red to green when switched ON, or
when a signal is detected in AUTO mode.
The facility exists to have the subwoofer remotely powered on, using a +12 volt control signal, via the 3.5mm jack
socket provided. In this case, set the mode switch to AUTO.
Play a selection of known DVDʼs or music through the system and slowly increase the input level control until
roughly the correct amount of bass is present. If not operating in LFE mode (using the stereo line or speaker level
inputs), adjust the CROSSOVER FREQUENCY control to achieve the most seamless integration of energy with
your main speakers. If this does not prove possible, set the PHASE switch to REVERSE, which with some
speakers will give better results. Fine adjustment of the controls will take a little time using a range of different
programme material.
Remember that the object of a subwoofer is to enhance the output of your main speakers, not overpower it.
