Record Message From An External Device

The TalkingSign™ may also record from an external device such as a tape deck or CD player.

Step 1
Attach a ‘patch cord, (not supplied) from the line/audio out of the external player to the LINE IN
(9) of the TalkingSign™.  The cord should have a 3.5mm stereo ‘headphone-type’ plug on the
TalkingSign™ end and the other end should match the output connector on the external
player.  Radio Shack #42-2475 or #42-2387.

Step 2
Switch the control lock  switch (7) to the unlocked position.  This activates the front panel
buttons (a-d).

Step 3
When ready to record, start the external player and then press the REC button (d).  Use a
clock to gauge how long you are recording.  When finished press STOP button(b).

Step 4
Switch the control lock switch (7) to the locked position.  This deactivates the front panel
buttons (a-d), preventing accidental recording.

Note:  LINE IN and MIC IN are mixed internally and may be used simultaneously.

Note:  When front panel buttons are unlocked, they flash when pressed.  When locked, the last
button pressed remains on, but does not flash.
