Infrared Thermometer
Operating principle
All surfaces emit thermal radiation. The type and amount of this energy
can be used to determine the surface temperature of the object.
The MS6530 detects radiation at infrared frequencies, in a narrow band
from 8 to 14 micrometres, and focusses it onto a sensor. An internal
microprocessor calculates and displays the temperature on an LCD
screen.
The laser is used only to indicate the target area to be measured. Laser
light has no effect upon the measured temperature.
Inserting and Changing the Battery
The unit requires a 9 Volt battery, type 6LR61.
Perform the following procedure when you
first receive the unit or when the battery low
indicator shows (16).
Pinch the OPEN characters on the unit
handle (7), just below the trigger (6).
The battery compartment hinges from the
bottom of the handle.
Clip the battery connector onto the top of
the battery. Make sure that the battery
polarity is correct. Connecting the battery
the wrong way round may damage the
unit.
Press the battery into the handle.
Position the battery cables inside the compartment.
Clip the battery cover (7) back into place.
