Before using your radio

Once you have unpacked your radio, there are a few tasks you
must do before you can use it. The most important of these is to
charge your battery for the first time—allow 2.5 hours for this.

Warning

Fit only an IS-approved battery and IS-approved acces-

sories to an intrinsically safe (IS) radio. Fitting a battery or acces-
sory that is not IS-approved exposes the customer to a risk of
