To select your source for recording, turn the 

RECORD

selector until

the mark on its side points to the name of the input that you want
to record

The record output is not affected by the muting or volume controls.

Your PA20R has six line level inputs which can be selected by
name

. The input for listening can be selected independently

from the input for recording, so you can listen to one source
and record another at the same time.

The signal from your chosen input source will be amplified and
sent to 

OUTPUT 1, 2, 3

and the headphone socket. To select your

source from the front panel, turn the 

INPUT

selector until the mark

on its side points to the name of the input that you want to listen to.

You can also select an input for listening by pressing the button
on the remote control marked with the name of the input

For optimum performance from the remote control you must point
it towards the remote control pickup window on the front panel.

The remote control can also be used with selected TAG McLaren
Audio F3 Series CD players. For details, see the separate remote
control instructions.

is only functional if your PA20R has been fitted with the optional

transformer-coupled and balanced output. See page 19 for details

3. When you use the remote control, the 

INPUT

selector on the front panel will turn

automatically to point to the selected input. Make sure that nothing interferes
with the free movement of the selector when you use the remote control

5. With many preamplifiers, a feedback loop can be created if the output and input

of a tape recorder are both connected to the preamplifier and the same tape
recorder is selected as the record input. The PA20R has microprocessor-
controlled relays which prevent this from happening
