Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this
component, check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other components
and electrical appliances being used. If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your
dealer.

Remedy
No sound even when
source is selected.
The input connectors are improperly connected.
•
The MUTE function is enabled (MUTING indicator
•
is flashing).
Sound volume is set too low.
•
Check connections.
•
Press the MUTE button on the main unit or the
•
remote control to disable the MUTE function.
Adjust the sound volume properly.
•
Noise is heard even when
no input is selected.
Noise is present in the power source itself.
•
Confirm that no other digital appliance is
•
connected to the same power outlet.
No sound from digital
input.
Digital connections are not correct.
•
If a CD player or other component with digital
•
output level setting function is connected, the
output level setting is too low.
The playback software’s digital format is not
•
supported.
Check digital connections.
•
Adjust the CD player or other component’s digital
•
output setting.
If the output component is set to a non-PCM mode
•
(Dolby Digital, DTS, etc.), change the setting to
PCM.
No sound from USB
input.
Another component is selected by computer
•
settings. The computer is set to MUTE.
Connections are incorrect. The computer is not
•
detecting this unit (TAD-USB1).
The file type, OS, or software is not supported.
•
Check the computer’s sound settings.
•
Check connections. Try pressing the remote
•
control’s RESET button to make the computer
detect this unit.
Check supported operating systems, software, and
•
file sampling frequencies (page 17).
The USB input’s sampling
frequency is always the
same.
Depending on the computer’s settings, the
•
sampling frequency may remain the same, even
though the sampling frequency of played files is
different.
Check computer settings.
•
Computer sounds other
than music are audible
from USB inputs.
Depending on computer settings, sounds such as
•
boot beeps and error beeps may be played from
this unit.
Check computer settings.
•
When playing non-USB
sources, the computer’s
software cannot be
played.
With non-USB sources, this unit’s USB circuit
•
power is set to OFF, so the computer does not
detect it.
Select USB input source.
•
When the remote
control’s RESET button
is pressed, sound is
interrupted, or the
playback software
program stops.
When the RESET button is pressed,
•
communication between this unit and the
computer is temporarily interrupted, with the
result that the computer’s software playback will
also be interrupted or stop.
Do not press the RESET button during playback.
•
Power doesn’t turn off.
The 12 V TRIGGER input connector is receiving an
•
H-level signal.
Shut off the signal at the component generating
•
the 12 V TRIGGER signal.
Power turns off by itself.
If the auto power down function is set to ON, the
•
unit will automatically switch to Standby after
three hours of inactivity.
Set auto power down function to OFF (page 16).
•
Can’t see display.
The display detection area is 45° to right and left.
•
The display is set to OFF.
•
Look at the display directly from the front.
•
Press the DISP button to cancel display OFF.
•
Can’t be remote
controlled.
The remote control’s batteries are depleted.
•
Distance is too far. Angle to the signal sensor is
too extreme. An object is interrupting the signal
path. A strong fluorescent or other light is directed
toward the signal sensor.
Try replacing the batteries in the remote control.
•
Be sure to operate within 7 m and a 30° angle of
the remote sensor on the front panel. Check that
there are no obstacles between the receiver and
the remote control. Make sure that there is no
fluorescent or other strong light shining on to the
remote sensor.
